General Likes: Tropey shenanigans, taken as seriously or as silly as you like. Protectiveness. Loyalty. Conflict. Hurt/comfort. Messy, complicated relationships where no one person is necessarily "better" than the other. Characters who are normally in control very much not being that. Canon divergence/for want of a nail AUs. Role swaps. Time loops. Dragons and/or robots. Hair ruffling.

General DNWs: PWP. Non-canonical (permanent) major character death. Torture or mutilation. Issue fic. Mundane AUs (e.g. coffee shop, no powers, etc.).

Porn Likes: I love pinning against walls, one partner hoisting the other up and carrying them, spontaneous, almost frantic, desperate sex that can't entirely wait until they hit the bed (Isabela/F!Hawke is the only Bioware "sex scene" I've ever found genuinely hot). Fighting/sparring turning to fucking, rivalry/competition in and out of the bedroom, power play, mind games, elements of deception including identity porn, and characters who are usually in control turning into a total mess when they're in love are all choice. Elements of danger or high peaks of emotion as the lead up to sex are fantastic - there's nothing quite like "I thought you were dead" sex! Ass worship and spanking are great. I am weak in the knees for older women or muscles or displays of strength. I am also totally down for mid- or after-sex fluffiness including hair petting/playing with hair and that goddamn shoujo forehead bump that makes my heart melt.

Porn DNWs: Non-con (I want both participants to be very into what's happening even when all the cards aren't on the table or they know they're bad for each other), heats/sex pollen, fecal matter, blood play, any sort of genuine injury being caused through sex, age play, underage.

DCU (Comics)

Kate Kane/Renee Montoya

You know that scene in Crime Bible/The Five Books of Blood, specifically "The Lesson of Greed", where Batwoman and Question get into a physical scrap out of sheer desperation to save each other (in Kate's case, saving Renee from herself and in Renee's case, saving Kate from the Religion of Crime)? And there are these really intense feelings even though they're already exes at this point? And a lack of communication and a lot of hurt on both sides?

Hoo boy, that's my shit. That level of conflict and tension is the pinnacle of what gets to me about Kate/Renee as a ship.

It doesn't all have to be physical brawls (though those are certainly welcome). The scenes related to their break-up in pre-New 52 Batwoman cut me deep in the best way, especially knowing how Renee being outed actually went down when it happened. Kate/Renee is one of those absurdly rare canon F/F ships that draws off a rich shared history and complex character flaws and motivations and an absolute inability to completely move on even when they want to, it's a blessing. Anything that gives them an opportunity to interact and a reason for conflict while still having those intense emotions and that deep caring and protectiveness in place is going to be my jam.

I'm really into the idea of super tropey casefic for these two. I'm also very into scenarios that draw on Renee's self-destructive "ends justify the means" approach to problem solving; her willingness to do some pretty shady things despite the cost to herself (physically, mentally, ethically) in order to protect the people she cares about is like catnip to me. On that note, I'm also very down with Kate being entirely, justifiably furious over Renee taking it upon herself to be the martyr.

Porn with plot is very much welcome for these characters. Shoving into walls and emotion-driven desperation work particularly well here.

Specific Prompts:
  • Groundhog day timeloop shenanigans. I'm totally willing to break my character death DNW for this, provided the final loop comes out with both Kate and Renee alive.
  • Somebody gets a hold of a monkey's paw (or, well, something like it). I could see this leading to some interesting conflict whether the holder is Kate or Renee, but Renee's tendency toward self-destruction could be particularly relevant here.
  • Any situation where they have to investigate something together. They could both start off investigating independently and be drawn together by the case or set out to work together from the get go.

Crossover Fandoms

Valkyrie/Jessica Jones

Valkyrie has long been one of my favourite Marvel comics characters and I couldn't be more thrilled with how Taika Waititi and Tessa Thompson have brought her to life in the MCU - she has stolen my heart and I really hope we'll see a lot more of her in future movies. Similarly, Jessica Jones really felt like the superhero show I desperately wanted and Jessica herself is simply wonderful.

Here are two very strong, hard-drinking women who do their darndest to keep other people at arm's length and whose preferred strategy for dealing with their problems is...not dealing with them. They've both developed a somewhat more cynical outlook due to traumatic past experiences, but ultimately can't resist being the hero when it comes down to it.

I love Jessica's abrasiveness and how her character balances being exceptionally clever and very talented when it comes to understanding people with also being the type of person who's totally ready to solve her problems with her fists. I love how obvious it is when she cares for someone, even if she's canonically the kind of person who rarely feels the need to say things like "I love you". Trish (and any other character from the Netflix crew) is totally welcome to show up, by the way.

I love Valkyrie's swagger and how she doesn't flinch from friendly roughhousing with the Hulk. I love that even though she was at a point in her life where she "[didn't] help anyone" and didn't want to form any attachments, she still formed a genuine, friendly connection there (Hulk + Val friendship has been my jam since The Defenders comics and I am totally down for the MCU version popping up, by the way). Even though, like other Asgardians, she's formidable just from a physical strength standpoint, she demonstrates a lot of refined technical skill when we see her fight and moves to quickly force her opponent to yield in less deadly confrontations, which could be a really interesting contrast to Jess who generally relies on brute force in physical confrontations and is the only member of The Defenders who, as far as we know, doesn't have any kind of combat training.

I would adore a good old fashioned superhero team-up! Valkyrie winds up on Earth and she and Jessica wind up facing off against a common enemy and then eventually smooching. A battle couple scenario would be totally baller here. Canon-divergence AUs are more than welcome, even if it's just to side-step the whole Thanos plot line (though more significant points of canon-divergence are totally welcome). Conflict before the get-together is more than okay - I can see their personalities sparking off each other in really interesting ways.

Specific Prompts:
  • Riffing off the plot of Fearless Defenders, Val is stuck with the task of trying to rebuild the Valkyries with candidates from Midgard. She's mostly trying to avoid it more than anything, but circumstances force the issue. Jessica is very qualified to be a valkyrie and very not interested.
  • After arriving on Midgard, Val hires Jessica to investigate something. Naturally, it gets complicated and becomes a whole thing because they're Marvel characters and it's a Tuesday.

Dragon Age (Video Games)

Fandom Specific DNWs: Focusing on any of the player characters. Non-default names for player characters.

Sera/Vivienne

Sera: She's a bitch, but she knows. She better.
Vivienne: Sera is certainly a colorful character. Like a poisonous toad. Only without the manners.

Sera and Vivienne are one of those great ships where the characters couldn't be more different and don't get along at all, but they do care about each other at least a little bit. Their party banter is a riot and I love Vivienne's unflappability in the face of Sera's needling. Needling which canonically includes stealing Vivienne's underwear and mooning her repeatedly.

Sera and Vivienne aren't completely without similarities, however. There's an obvious point of comparison in Sera's attitude towards elves and Vivienne's attitude toward mages. Either one can be off-putting and easily misunderstood as coming from a place of blind prejudice, but both of them have actually formed their viewpoints from a combination of finding ways to defend themselves against the parts of their pasts that still have the power to hurt them coupled with a frustration with what they perceive as an inability in other people to make the most sensible choice/the choice that ultimately serves the greater good in the long run. Neither of them are particularly shy about their opinions or likely to pretend to like someone they don't care for, though their tact in expressing their viewpoints varies significantly. I think that they both really value the people they feel like they can trust and feel safe in caring for. Neither of them is adverse to swift and brutal vengeance when it's called for. They're both capable of being extremely clever and making use of careful planning. Whether it's Orlesian politics or keeping an ear out for "Friends", there's something to be said for having a solid understanding of how people work.

Any sort of scenario where they're forced to work together by circumstance would be wonderful.

Specific Prompts:
-I was super disappointed that DA:I didn't have any prison rescue mission shenanigans, which could be a fun thing to explore.
-I am also always, always down for "trapped behind enemy lines/mission gone wrong and forced to depend on each other to make it out alive" scenarios.
-Post-canon meetings where they cross each others' paths again because of their own personal agendas, Inquisition ties, or just happenstance would be really cool too.

Morrigan/Vivienne

Morrigan: Why, Madame Vivienne, I expected sweeter barbs from a tongue as subtle as yours! Does this place unnerve you so? Or is it I?
Vivienne: You unnerve me as would a cockroach crossing the floor, making me think new accommodations might be required.

Bring on the courtly intrigue and political power plays and dignified rivalry and biting insults. These are two of the sharpest tongues in Thedas with a built in context for wonderful interaction. It is an absolute travesty that we never got to see any real interaction aside from a couple precious lines of banter in the game.

These are two women with a lot of pride and they both have a lot of power and skill to back it up. Neither is quick to place their trust in people, but they place a very high value on any connections they do manage to form. Both of them can be ruthless when crossed. The acquisition and preservation of knowledge is important to both of them, but I can see their differing attitudes toward certain aspects of magic (and especially spirits and the Fade) being a really interesting point of conflict for them. They're also both very motivated to acquire power, but where Morrigan is willing to throw caution to the wind when it comes to opportunities like the Well of Sorrows, Vivienne maintains a certain level of caution when it comes to unfamiliar magic and is keenly aware of how dangerous magic can be,

Specific Prompts:
-I am super duper down for stuff set pre-DA:I in Orlais, after Morrigan joins Celeine's court. Rivalmance with a side of political intrigue and plotting is particularly choice for these two.
-Something that gives them a chance to play off their knowledge of magic might also be neat - maybe while on an Inquisition mission in some ruins, they become separated from the rest of the group and have deal!

Pretty Deadly

Big Alice/Deathface Ginny

Big Alice: You think this is the first time I've been on the wrong end of a sword, little girl?

First off, I want to be clear so that my DNWs don't give the wrong impression: I am
100% okay with violence being included as not just an element, but as a feature. Especially for these two. The fight scene between them in volume 1 is what made the transition from "okay, I'm decently interested" to "I love this comic" for me. Getting to see two women fight as viciously as these two was a treat. And I am not above some scrapping between two halves of a ship, especially for femslash. Love me some (fr)enemy ships. Love me some sexual tension in fighting.

Pretty Deadly is a super fascinating comic, aesthetically and conceptually. I love every part of it and I would be over the moon to see someone take the worldbuilding and characters and play with them or flesh them out a little. Everything about how reapers work has been really neat and the whole detail about reapers with complimentary aspects working in pairs from volume 2 is definitely something that you can play with for this pairing (Vengeance and Cruelty is such an interesting combo).

I'm not picky about when you choose to set your fanwork. It can be before the events of volume 1. It can be between volumes. It can be after the established canon (even with the endgame events of volume 2 being what they are, I am 100% willing to accept Alice making a return in a weird west comic that loves playing with the whole concept of death). These characters and the world they live in have a wealth of implied history to play with and I love that, but I am just as interested as to how things may proceed going forward - especially with Sissy shaking the status quo up a little bit.

I'm also fine with AUs, although for this particular fandom, I'd prefer that they be set within the canon world.

I'd definitely be interested in them taking on some kind of task as reaper partners. I'd also be equally as interested in them coming into conflict, much like they did in volume 1. I'm also not adverse to them starting out one way and then finding that their allegiances have changed as need be. What kind of events do Vengeance and Cruelty get involved in when in each others' company? How does each of them being present influence the other and potentially the mortals around them? A lot of what we've seen of Alice has been driven by the motivations of whoever's in charge of death right now - whether it be the OG death from volume 1 or Sissy in volume 2 - and we don't have as clear an idea of what she thinks or what drives her as we do with Ginny (which is...saying a lot since a lot about Ginny is still fairly mysterious). I would def be up for exploring more personal details about these characters through whatever scenario you have them involved in.

Specific Prompts:
  • Time loop where they're the only two aware that time is repeating could be a really interesting scenario for both of them.
  • Again, totally down for any reaper missions that require Vengeance and Cruelty to work in tandem.
  • How about when Sissy assigned them as reaper partners? How did they take that news? What was the breaking in period like?
